Yesterday, I was designing little masks for birds so I can measure their breathing. Today I’m making prototypes of the masks and cleaning up my big bird aviary, ready for some new arrivals!
Most days I also have to do less exciting stuff such as answering lots of emails and writing reports, but there’s still plenty of exciting work to be done to balance it out 🙂
My typical day is first checking my emails and making plans for the day, then I might do an experiment – which usually involves counting some cells and staining them and looking at them under a microscope. I also look after the other cells I have growing and maybe do some reading to see what other scientists are doing at the moment
