• Question: if chemicals were spilled in sewers would that stop water production

      It depends on how bad the chemicals are – some chemicals could be strong enough to kill the bugs in the water treatment plant so raw sewage would be released to the rivers. Some chemicals can only be removed with very special processes that might not be available at your standard wastewater treatment plant… this could mean that the chemical could find it’s way into the rivers and depending how dangerous could hurt many plants, animals and seeing as we get our drinking water from rivers too ….it could even harm us!
