We have two sets of teeth because of the evolution. everything we developed following the Darwin rules of the “adaptation” has followed a need to do something. The most clear example of this phenomenon are the giraffes, with their long neck, developed so because of their continuos effort to reach fruits on high trees. So, the teeth are doubled in sets during the evolution because it was adapted to the type of food we eat. We are omnivorous , so our teeth were developed in two sets to smash up almost everything!
