      Good question!

Tornados happen when hot & dry weather conditions meet cold & wet weather conditions. I think the central USA gets lots of tornados because there are lots of big, flat, open plains where hot dry air can easily mix with cooler air coming in from the ocean.

Tornadoes are strong and destructive events happening when cold and hot flows of airs encounter each other. They are more frequent in the interface area between oceans (I.e. Pacific and Atlantic) when there is big space at the interface (i.e. Florida, Caraibi). is very unlikely to have a tornadoes in UK or in Europe due to the big area and separation between oceans.
